4 Career Sites That Empower & Support Women
I'm always on the lookout for resources that can help further my career. Below are my top four favorite professional development sites I visit at least once weekly. Enjoy!
I first discovered Create & Cultivate a few years back when I was looking for other job resources besides LinkedIn and Indeed. What I found was so much more; an online community dedicated to helping millennial women create the successful careers they deserve. The organization host many conferences per year. According to their site, attendees get access to a highly curated, impactful one-day program of workshops, mentor sessions, and panels, as well as delicious cocktails, food, pop-up shops, photo booths, gift bags, and more. They always have a great lineup of speakers! Some of their speaker alumni include Meghan Markle, Tia Mowry, Kim Kardashian West, and more. I love all of their blog content. Check it out for yourself!
Another great resource is the Career Contessa. I stumbled upon this gem via a blogger I follow. Per their site, they help women cultivate successful careers through expert advice, interviews, and videos, one-on-one mentoring, online skills-based courses and resources, and a curated job board that speaks to their audience. Everything they do comes straight from the best kind of experts—real women who've been there and successfully done that.
A site I pretty much visit weekly. The Everygirl is a lifestyle site that includes advice on Career & Finance, Fashion & Beauty, Wellness, and Travel. I love their manifesto --- Whether she is searching for her dream job or a new city to call home; is saving for a down payment or a ticket to travel the world; is learning to cook or speak another language, she needs a bit of guidance, she wants to be inspired. She is The Everygirl. This is for her.
Minda Harts, Arthur of " The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure A Seat at the Table," created an online platform in conjunction with her book to help WOC create that seat at the table. I loved her book! So, of course, I had to see what The Memo was all about. Per the site, The Memo is a career development company providing tools, access, and a robust community for women of color and for the companies where they work. They provide community through networking events, resources via career boot camps, and access through executives, entrepreneurs, and employees from companies like Giphy, Verizon Media, Miss Jessie's.
